Israel Reaches Out to India for Recruitment of 10,000 Construction Workers and 5,000 Caregivers

Israel has once again approached India for a large-scale recruitment drive, seeking 10,000 construction workers and 5,000 caregivers to address critical skill shortages in its infrastructure and healthcare sectors. This follows a similar request made earlier in the year.

Construction Roles in High Demand
The Population, Immigration, and Border Authority (PIBA) of Israel has specifically requested candidates for four key construction roles: Framework, Iron Bending, Plastering, and Ceramic Tiling. A team from PIBA is expected to visit India soon to conduct skill tests and select suitable candidates who meet the job requirements. The second round of the recruitment drive for construction workers will be conducted in Maharashtra.

Caregiver Opportunities with Competitive Salaries
Israel is also seeking 5,000 caregivers to strengthen its healthcare services. Eligible candidates must have completed at least their 10th standard, hold a certificate from a recognized Indian institution, and have completed a caregiving course with at least 990 hours of on-the-job training.

Selected workers will receive a competitive salary of Rs 1.92 lakh per month, along with medical insurance, food, and accommodation. Additionally, a bonus of Rs 16,515 per month will be provided.

National Skill Development Corporation Leading Recruitment
The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) is coordinating the recruitment process across various states in India. This follows a government-to-government (G2G) agreement signed between India and Israel in November 2023, after the two nations initiated a Framework Agreement on Temporary Employment of Indians in May 2023. The first round of recruitment was conducted in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Telangana, where over 10,000 workers were selected out of 16,832 candidates.

As part of the G2G pathway, all candidates must undergo Pre-Departure Orientation Training, which includes understanding Israeli culture and adjusting to life in their new environment.
