Iqbal Singh chairs crucial meeting on Christian community in Chandigarh

A significant meeting was convened today to address the prevailing sense of insecurity within the Christian community in Chandigarh. Chaired by Iqbal Singh Lallpura, representing the National Commission for Minorities, Government of India, the meeting, organized in collaboration with St. Stephen’s School under Founder Director Harold Carver’s guidance, witnessed active participation from representatives of Christian educational institutions and religious leaders.

The agenda focused on discussing grievances and implementing measures to uplift and empower the Christian community. Key discussions revolved around eradicating the sense of insecurity and creating a more inclusive environment. Arnus Masih, Advisor and Expert Panelist for the National Commission for Minorities, played a crucial role as the event’s coordinator.

Expert panelists from the National Commission for Minorities provided valuable insights during the discussions, with Fr. Regi Tom from the Don Bosco Church serving as the coordination associate. Arnus Masih underscored the importance of collaborative efforts between the government and community stakeholders to address concerns and enhance the sense of security and empowerment among Christian minorities in Chandigarh.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to establishing a dedicated committee in Chandigarh, in collaboration with the National Commission for Minorities, aimed at addressing grievances and implementing upliftment measures for the Christian community.
