Internet services restored in 7 districts of Haryana

In wake of the ongoing peasants agitation, citing the possibility of worsening of the law and order in the state, the internet services which were suspended till february 24 by the state government, have been resumed with immediate effect in seven districts of the Haryana.
Notably, the Haryana government had extended suspension of internet services till February 24 in 7 districts of Haryana including Hisar, Sirsa, Kaithal, Jind, Ambala, Fatehabad and Kurukshetra along with Dabwali area of Sirsa. The orders pertaining to suspension of the internet services issued on February 11, by the state government contained that, after assessment of the current prevailing law & order situation in the state, the conditions are still critical and tense in the district Ambala, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Jind, Hisar, Fatehabad and Sirsa. It was also mentioned in the orders that the action initiated in order to spread misinformation and rumours through various social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Whatsapp on mobile phones and SMS. The government had earlier extended the suspension of internet services on February 13 ,15, 17, 19, 20, 21, and 23. Internet services, voice calls, individual messages and Bulk SMSes will be available in aforementioned districts as the state government has decided not to extend the suspension giving a relief to the people in the state It is pertinent to mention that 7 persons including 4 farmers and 3 security and police personnel have lost their life in farmers agitations 2.0 so far.
