Indian Army organizes Kotranka Cricket League in Rajouri

In a bid to foster community engagement and promote healthy lifestyles among the youth, the Indian Army organized the Kotranka Cricket League in Rajouri District. Held at Kotranka, the event aimed to provide a platform for local youth to showcase their cricketing talents while emphasizing the importance of physical fitness.

Twelve teams from various villages of Kotranka and Budhal sub-division enthusiastically participated in the Kotranka Cricket League, which spanned over two days on a knock-out basis. The spirited matches witnessed strong camaraderie and sportsmanship among the participants, supported by an enthusiastic audience. In an exhilarating final showdown, the Kandi Warriors emerged victorious, clinching the winner’s trophy after defeating the Kotranka Cricket Club. Mr. Umar Gul showcased exceptional performance, earning him the titles of both man of the match and man of the tournament.

The Kotranka Cricket League not only provided a platform for sporting excellence but also served as a means to divert the energies of the youth away from negative influences such as drug abuse and unlawful activities. By promoting healthy competition and channeling youthful exuberance positively, the event aimed to contribute to the holistic development of the community.

The youth and residents of the area expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the Indian Army for organizing the Kotranka Cricket League and for taking proactive steps towards effective youth engagement. Such initiatives play a crucial role in instilling values of teamwork, discipline, and resilience among the younger generation, fostering a sense of unity and community spirit.
