Indian Army expresses grief over the death of two officers in Poonch’s grenade blast

The Indian Army expressed grief over the death of Indian Army captain Anand and a junior commissioned officer Bhagwan Singh on Monday. The two officers lost their lives in an accidental grenade blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Taking to Twitter, the White Knight Corps tweeted, “General officer commanding (GOC) White knight IA and all Ranks salute brave hearts Capt Anand and Nd Sub Bhagwan Singh who made the supreme sacrifice while performing their duties on the LoC in Mendhar sector. We offer deepest condolences to their family members.”

Two army jawans were injured in an accidental blast and succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment.

According to the Jammu Defense PRO, “Last night, an accidental grenade blast occurred in Mendhar sector, District Poonch when troops were performing their duties along the Line of Control. The blast resulted in injuries to soldiers. During the treatment, one officer and one JCO succumbed to their injuries.”

While performing their duties, a blast occurred along the Line of Control (LOC) on Saturday night, and Army troops got injured. Immediately the wounded soldiers were evacuated to Udhampur via helicopter.
