According to officials, three leaders of the banned organizations Popular Front of India (PFI) and Campus Front of India (CFI) were arrested in Assam’s Barpeta district on Friday.
According to Hiren Nath, ADGP (SB), Assam Police, “Police arrested three PFI and CFI members from Barpeta district, including the PFI’s Assam unit secretary and the CFI’s national treasurer.” The arrested PFI and CFI leaders have been identified as Jakir Hussain (34) and Abu Sama (54) of the PFI, and Sahidul Islam (30) of the CFI, according to Nath.
Police have also found Rs 1.50 lakh in cash, four mobile phones, and a Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) brochure from them.
