The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow signal on Tuesday, predicting heavy rain in eight districts throughout the state. The weather service issued warnings for heavy rain in the districts of Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, and Champawat.
The IMD also predicted rain in Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, and Udham Singh Nagar. Following severe rains since Monday night in the Dehradun area, a part of the Shri Tapkeshwar Mahadev Temple near River Tamsa collapsed earlier today.
“Amidst heavy downpours since the previous night, a part of the Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple near River Tamsa collapsed and caused a lot of damage to the temple property,” said the founder of the temple, Acharya Bipin Joshi on Tuesday.
