I have no differences with Siddaramaiah: DK Shivakumar

At the outset, it seems the crisis of the Congress in Karnataka is not over despite the party’s emphatic victory in the state assembly polls yesterday. Who will be the next Chief Minister of Karnataka? It is a million-dollar question. DK Shivakumar or Siddaramaiah?

State Congress chief DK Shivakumar on Sunday gave a sigh of relief to the party high command when he said that he has no differences with Siddaramaiah, who is most likely to take oath as the next CM of Karnataka.

DK Shivkumar went on to say that we have differences, but it is baseless. Shivakumar’s remarks were revealed after posters were stuck by the supporters of both leaders, referring to them as the ‘next CM’ of the state.

I sacrificed for the party several times and stood with Siddaramaiah. I remained patient when I was not made a minister in the beginning. I cooperated with Siddaramaiah,” he said.

Karnataka Congress leaders, including the party president and newly elected MLAs of the party, will hold a Congress Legislature Party meeting today in Bengaluru.

As per the sources, the leaders will pass a resolution to give power to the party high command to decide the names of the CM and Deputy CM.

They further added that the party’s leadership is ready to offer him the post of Deputy CM and key ministries as well for his round-the-clock work during the time of the election.

The Congress Party described the party’s victory as a foundation for next year’s Lok Sabha polls. The party is likely to give the top post to Siddaramaiah, who belongs to the OBC Kurba Samaj.
