Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s “Fighter” Faces Ban in Gulf Countries, Limited to UAE Release

The highly anticipated Bollywood film “Fighter,” starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, is set to face disappointment as it has been officially banned in all Gulf countries except the UAE, according to film business expert and producer Girish Johar. The news comes just days before the film’s scheduled release on January 25, leaving fans in the Gulf region disheartened.

Girish Johar took to Twitter to share the setback, stating, “In a setback, #Fighter officially banned across Middle East regions for theatrical release. Only UAE will release the film with PG15 classification!” Despite the announcement, the specific reasons for the ban remain undisclosed.

A source close to the “Fighter” team has confirmed the news, noting that the film has not received approval from the censor board in Gulf countries, apart from the UAE. However, the makers have yet to issue an official statement on the matter.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, “Fighter” is an aerial action thriller that also features Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi. Produced by Viacom18 Studios in collaboration with Marflix Pictures, the film is dedicated to showcasing the valour, sacrifice, and patriotism of the Indian armed forces.

Despite the setback in Gulf countries, “Fighter” is still set to hit Indian theatres on January 25, offering fans in India an opportunity to experience the high-octane action on the big screen. Siddharth Anand, the director of the film, has expressed his dedication to the project, describing it as ambitious and more than just a film for him and his wife, Mamta.

As fans eagerly await the release, the ban in Gulf countries poses a challenge to the film’s international reach. The situation has sparked curiosity about the undisclosed reasons behind the ban, leaving the film’s fate in the Gulf region uncertain.
