HIMACHAL GOVERNOR REACHES SAMDO TO TIE RAKHI TO SOLDIERS

Governor of Himachal Pradesh Rajendra Arlekar reached Samdo, a high altitude post in Lahaul and Spiti, to tie rakhi to soldiers. Rajendra said, “Earlier, I used to send Rakhis on Rakshabandhan, this is my fortune to get the opportunity to meet all our brave soldiers and greet them as a governor.” During his two-day visit, he arrived at Samdo Army Helipad where he was received by military officers. 

This is Rajendra’s first visit to the tribal region of Himachal as a Governor. He stated that the main purpose was to tie rakhis sent from Goa on the wrists of the soldiers posted in the border area. He tied the rakhis to the soldiers made by the schoolgirls in Goa. Anagha Arlekar also accompanied him.

On this occasion, while interacting with the soldiers, the Governor said that it is his good fortune that he could be here to express his gratitude to the brave soldiers of the country by tying Rakhi.  

Rajendra said that even before becoming the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, he used to collect rakhis on the auspicious occasion of Rakhsha Bandhan in Goa and send them to the soldiers posted on the borders.  

Meanwhile, this time Rajendra got the opportunity to come here as a Governor. He said that we are proud of our soldiers, who are guarding our borders day and night from the enemies by being stationed in such inaccessible areas in difficult conditions.  

Rajendra said, “We can express our love for our brave soldiers in such a way that the feeling of patriotism is awakened in our future generations.” During his visit, the Governor interacted with the soldiers and also shared his experiences.

 Governor also went to Lepcha outpost from Samdo Army Helipad and interacted with Indian Tibet Border Police personnel.
