Haryana Police Cracks Down on Unauthorized Emergency Lights and Sirens

Haryana Director General of Police, Shatrujeet Kapur, has ordered a special campaign against the illegal use of red, and blue lights and sirens on vehicles. He said that strict action will be taken against the people using them illegally, including vehicles of government departments
This announcement came during a meeting chaired by the Director General of Police at the police headquarters, where senior traffic police officials were present. He directed the police officers to prepare a database of people installing illegal red, and blue lights and sirens, and to send challans to their homes. He also said that vehicles passing through toll plazas will be monitored for the use of unauthorized red, and blue lights and sirens. He made it unequivocally clear that the law applies to all.
Kapur instructed police officers to compile a database of individuals installing illegal red and blue lights and sirens. Similarly, a database of government vehicles will be established, and notifications will be sent to their respective department heads. Furthermore, online challans will be issued to private vehicle owners who install such lights, and these challans will be sent to their homes. To facilitate this, collaboration will be sought from toll plaza officers and staff. During this process, the police will send online challans after capturing photographs of vehicles in violation of these regulations. In his directives, Kapur emphasized that officers should execute an effective action plan for this campaign to deter future violations.
