Haryana Home Minister gets stern on misleading officials, committee formed

Deaths due to consumption of spurious liquor continues to remain in discussions in the state. In this series, controversy surfaced after the officials of the state police department gave contradictory figures regarding the deaths due to consumption of spurious alcohol.

Regarding this matter, Home Minister Anil Vij has made it clear that the officers giving wrong figures of deaths due to alcohol will not be spared. Vij, popularly known as ‘Gabber’, made it clear that whoever is responsible for lapse should be ready for strict action. In a bid to conduct a fair inquiry, a three-member committee has also been constituted. It is believed that in view of the strict nature of the Home Minister, there is a stir in the police department as well as the officials. The DGP and other senior IPS officers are mulling over every possible aspect of the matter.

In wake of the seriousness of the matter, Home Minister Anil Vij has constituted a three members committee. The seriousness of the matter can be gauged from the fact that on the third day itself a committee has been constituted to investigate the matter after the matter was raised in the assembly on the first day. The committee has senior IPS officer Nazneen Bhasin and IAS Vinay Singh associated with the Home Department. Apart from this, a representative member from the Excise and Taxation Department is included.
