Haryana CM, Home Minister meet over dispute, seek central help

Amidst the dispute between the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) and the Home Minister that has been going on for the last 41 days in Haryana, a secret meeting of CM Manohar Lal and Anil Vij took place following the instructions of the Centre. In this meeting which lasted for half an hour, there was a discussion between the two regarding the health department. During this discussion, the Home Minister presented complete information about the attitude of the CMO officer to the CM. After this he demanded a permanent solution to this entire matter.
After listening to Anil Vij, Chief Minister Manohar Lal talked to the CMO and Health Department officials and asked for a quick solution.
Even after getting positive assurance from the CM, Home Minister Anil Vij flatly refused to work on the files of the Health Department. According to sources, the Home Minister made it clear to the CM that he will look after the work of the Health Department only when this entire matter is permanently resolved. Anil Vij is not looking after any work of the Health Department since October 5. There are many files related to the department piled up in his office. He is also returning health department officials from his office empty handed.
Anil Vij even maintained distance from the North India AYUSH Conference held in Panchkula recently.
To convince Vij, the CM has obtained complete information about the arbitrary officers of the Health Department. Sources say that after getting instructions from the Centre, he does not want to prolong the matter any longer. Therefore, after meeting Vij, he soon started a campaign to crack down on this entire matter. Although no conditions have been imposed by Vij during the meeting with the CM, he wants a permanent solution to this. The CM himself will prepare a special strategy to put an end to this entire matter.
The main reason for Anil Vij’s displeasure is the review meeting of the Health Department organized by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on October 5. This meeting was called by Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Rajesh Kumar Khullar. Director General of Health Dr. Sonia Trikha Khullar and all the heads of departments were present in this meeting held at PWD Rest House, Panchkula.
The news of the ongoing tussle between Anil Vij and CMO officers has also reached the party high command. Vij was the first to approach the high command through former Haryana BJP president OP Dhankhar. Dhankhar was removed from the post of state president only last week. On the morning of Monday 30 October, Anil Vij met RSS state campaigner Vijay Kumar in Ambala. There was a conversation between the two for about 35 minutes.
After this, 2 officers of CMO were posted in Vij’s departments. Among these, Principal Secretary to CM Rajesh Kumar Khullar was given the charge of Additional Chief Secretary in the Home Department and Additional Principal Secretary to CM V. Umashankar was given the charge of Principal Secretary in Local Bodies. Vij objected to this also.
