Haryana Cabinet gives nod to recruit 1500 drivers and 205 Ayush doctors

The State Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal here on Thursday accorded approval to several proposals and policies. In bid to ensure seamless and effective round-the-clock operations and availability of the Emergency Response Vehicles (EVR) across the State, the State Government will soon be recruiting 1500 drivers, as envisaged in section 21 of the Haryana Police Act, 2007 through Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam Limited (HKRNL) for a period of one year. As per the decision, a three-member selection board chaired by the District Superintendent of Police or Deputy Commissioner of Police (Headquarters) has been constituted to conduct the driving test and an interview of the eligible candidates. Deputy Superintendent of Police/Assistant Superintendent of Police of the concerned district or Assistant Commissioner of Police to be nominated by the concerned District Superintendent of Police or the Commissioner of Police, as the case may be and LMV Licensing Authority of the concerned district will be the Board members. Any candidate having a minimum educational qualification of class XII from recognized boards for all categories with a valid driving license will be eligible to apply for the said post. Representation to all the categories as per Nigam policy and the Reservation Policy of the state shall be ensured. The Selected Driver shall be liable to the same duties and responsibilities and be subject to the superintendence of the same authorities as an ordinary police officer and after their selection, shall undergo a 15 days capsule Course to orient themselves to the needs of Police Department.Meanwhile, 630 ERVs have been deployed under ERSS and the manpower for the same has been drawn from the existing strength of the Department. Each ERV is operated in 2 shifts with 3 police personnel being posted in one shift that is one in-charge, one Supporting Staff and one Driver. Thus, each ERV is manned by 4 Police officials and 2 police drivers.
The state cabinet also gave nod to the recruitment of 205 Ayush doctors through Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC). After the approval, 175 posts of Ayurvedic Medical Officer, 4 posts of Resident Physician, Unani Physician, Ayurvedic Physician, 8 posts of Unani Medical Officer and 18 posts of Homeopathic Medical Officer will be filled.Meanwhile, earlier it was decided that the recruitment of AYUSH doctors would be taken out of the purview of the Haryana Public Service Commission.
