Haryana AAP Chief Sushil Gupta Warns of Candidate List Release if No Alliance Deal with Congress

Haryana’s AAP Chief Sushil Gupta has raised concerns about the potential alliance with Congress for the upcoming assembly elections. Gupta announced on Monday that if there is no update from the party’s high command about the alliance by the end of the day, AAP will release its candidate list for all 90 Haryana Assembly seats.

“As AAP Haryana chief, I am preparing for all 90 assembly seats. If we don’t hear from the high command today, we will unveil our candidate list by evening,” Gupta stated.

He emphasized that AAP is fully prepared to contest all 90 seats and will announce the candidates soon if the alliance does not materialize.

With the nomination deadline just three days away, the Aam Aadmi Party, which had initially planned to contest all 90 seats, has been in ongoing discussions with Congress about a possible alliance. On Sunday, AAP MP Raghav Chadha expressed optimism about the seat-sharing talks, noting that both parties are hopeful about reaching an agreement before the September 12 deadline for nominations.

Chadha indicated that both parties are committed to forming an alliance and will finalize their decision by September 12. “Discussions are ongoing in a positive environment. We will reach a conclusion before the deadline. If we cannot agree or if a win-win situation isn’t possible, we will proceed separately,” Chadha said.

Congress leader Deepak Babaria also noted that discussions are progressing, and a decision is expected soon. “We are exchanging details and hope to finalize the alliance in the next two days. If a mutually beneficial agreement is reached, we will form a coalition. There may be changes in the names of previously declared candidates,” Babaria added.

The Haryana assembly elections are scheduled for October 5, with the final date for filing nominations set for September 12. Vote counting will take place on October 8.
