Flight operations at Gujarat’s Rajkot International Airport began with the arrival of the first flight from Indore.
On Sunday, the flight was greeted with a lamp-lighting ceremony in the presence of officials, as well as the traditional water cannon salute. The Airports Authority of India stated in a statement on Monday that 11 flights were operated on the inaugural day, with 2,546 people passing through the new airport.
The New International Airport in Hirasar, Rajkot, Gujarat, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 27 in the presence of state Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel, Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, and other dignitaries.
