Gujar community demand fair representation in LS polls

Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Rajasthan Gujar Mahasabha has also demanded increased representation in ticket distribution. This demand has been raised by the state president of the Rajasthan Gujar Mahasabha and former minister of BJP, Kalu Lal Gujar.

Kalu Lal Gujar, the state president of the Gujar Mahasabha, said on Tuesday that a meeting of the Rajasthan Gujar Mahasabha was recently held. During this meeting, demands were made to provide greater representation to the Gujar community in Rajasthan’s politics from both the BJP and Congress.

Currently, the representation of the Gujar community is inadequate. He said that in the last three Lok Sabha elections, BJP has only given one ticket. Before that, tickets were not even given once.

In the last three elections, Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla was made a candidate first. After that, Sukhbir Singh Jaunpuria was given a ticket from Tonk-Sawai Madhopur.

Under the banner of the Gujar Mahasabha, both major political parties, BJP and Congress, have been demanded to provide representation to the Gujar community on three to four Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan.

Among them are Bhilwara, Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, Jaipur Rural, and Ajmer. Kalu Lal Gujar said that both major political parties have been demanded to give representation to the Gujar community on at least two seats.

He said, “The Rajasthan Gujar Mahasabha is a non-political organisation. Most of Rajasthan’s Gujar community is inclined towards BJP. They supported the BJP in the last assembly elections.”

Kalu Lal Gujar said that he has also demanded a ticket from the Bhilwara Lok Sabha constituency. Jaunpuria is an outsider, but there is no opposition to him.

In Rajasthan, more representation is given to the Jat, Rajput, and Brahmin communities than the Gujar community. Similarly, we should also be given proper representation.
