Governor inaugurates ASSOCHAM’s Health, Beauty, and Wellness Symposium

India’s prominent industry body, ASSOCHAM Northern Region, successfully hosted the inaugural Health, Beauty, and Wellness Symposium, a groundbreaking initiative that united industry stakeholders to discuss trends, growth areas, innovation, and more.
The symposium’s inaugural session featured the presence of Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh UT, Banwarilal Purohit, who served as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the event as well. In his address, Banwarilal Purohit discussed health consciousness, the effects of stress, and the benefits of yoga. He emphasized cultivating good habits for overall wellness and highlighted the immense export potential in this industry. He underscored the significance of research and development in advancing these sectors further.

Ajay Chagti, IAS, Secretary- Health, UT Administration, Chandigarh, commended ASSOCHAM for organizing the event, recognizing the pivotal role these sectors play in shaping physical well-being and overall quality of life. He stressed the importance of adopting a holistic approach to health and wellness, acknowledging the increasing global recognition of balanced and healthy lifestyle initiatives.

Rakesh Bhalla, Chairman, ASSOCHAM Chandigarh UT Development Council, and CFO, SML Isuzu Limited; Manik Batra, Chairman, ASSOCHAM J&K UT Development Council & Director, Batra Group of Companies; and Drishmeet Singh Buttar, Co-Chair, ASSOCHAM Chandigarh UT Development Council & Managing Partner, Healing Super Specialty Hospital, also presided over the event. The three addressed the media on the event’s sidelines and shared details of the symposium.

Rakesh Bhalla, Chairman, ASSOCHAM Chandigarh UT Development Council, stated, “The day-long event aimed at fostering communication across the healthcare, wellness, and beauty sectors to address upcoming concerns and shape industry policies.”
Manik Batra, Chairman, ASSOCHAM J&K UT Development Council, added, “The symposium facilitated discussions on influencing the direction of healthcare, wellness, and beauty industries and initiating a seamless global healthcare transition.

Drishmeet Singh Buttar, Co-Chair, ASSOCHAM Chandigarh UT Development Council, mentioned, “ASSOCHAM has been organizing events in the health sector in Delhi, and due to the overwhelming requests from industry experts, the decision was made to extend these initiatives to regional platforms, with the North Region taking the lead.”
The event featured interesting panel discussions on subjects such as ‘The Vital Link – Nutraceuticals and their role in wellness,’ ‘The Symbiosis of Health & Pharmaceuticals,’ and ‘Beyond Looks: Navigating Careers in Beauty and Fitness.’
