Gian Chand Gupta Kicks Off Road Improvement Projects in Panchkula

Haryana Assembly Speaker, Gian Chand Gupta on Friday, officially inaugurated the commencement of laying bituminous concrete in front of the Community Center MDC, along with the reinforcement of roads from Singh Dwar to Gurudwara. This project is estimated to cost around Rs 97 lakh and is taking place in Ward No. 2. Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal and Councilor Suresh Verma also attended the event.

The Municipal Corporation is responsible for completing both these initiatives by July 2024. Strengthening and repairing roads will enhance transportation convenience for the public. Gupta emphasized the prioritization of road reinforcement in the Panchkula Assembly area.
He mentioned that the recarpeting of 34 roads totaling 38.08 km has commenced, costing Rs 21.71 crore, with completion expected within three months. Additionally, Rs 25 crore has been allocated for road repairs in the Panchkula assembly constituency.

Gupta highlighted the transformative impact of NH-73 on Panchkula’s landscape and future. Connecting all villages to this major highway has not only facilitated easier travel but also stimulated new avenues for development. He emphasized the remarkable transition from neglected Panchkula to developed Panchkula, citing over Rs 5500 crore worth of development projects undertaken in the assembly area since 2014.

As a resident of Panchkula, Gupta expressed his familiarity with the residents’ issues and his ongoing efforts to address them. Basic amenities such as electricity, water, roads, education, and healthcare have been prioritized to improve residents’ quality of life.

Gupta noted significant improvements in electricity supply, with villages now receiving 24-hour electricity, and the installation of 50 new tube wells to address water scarcity. Notable advancements in healthcare include the expansion of bed capacity and the provision of modern facilities at Civil Hospital Sector-6.

The event was attended by Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sachin Gupta, Superintendent Engineer Vijay Goyal, Executive Engineer Pramod Kumar, BJP District General Secretary Paramjit Kaur, Councilor Sunit Singla, District Vice President Vandana Gupta, State Media Co-Chief Naveen Garg, Tarsem Gupta, and other dignitaries.
