Fugitive accused in Police Firing Case detained after 2-Kilometer Chase

On Monday, the main accused in a case of firing on the police has been arrested. He was hiding in the jungles of Posalia in Sirohi and was detained after a 2-kilometre chase.
The accused had been on the run for nearly a year in a case of firing on the police. A reward of Rs 20,000 was announced for his capture. After tracking him for about two kilometres, the police finally apprehended the accused, Jaykishan Vishnoi. SHO (Station House Officer) Ravi Singh of Desuri police station explained that on May 15, a checkpoint was set up near the Hariaum Ashram in Desuri. During this time, an Alto car approached the checkpoint. Upon signalling to stop, the car’s driver turned the vehicle around and sped toward Desuri. When pursued, the accused fired at the police team at the Rotelav Chowk. Fortunately, no one was injured by the gunfire. The accused fled with the car towards Ghanerav. In response, the police set up another checkpoint outside the Ghanerav police post. However, the accused again fired at the police personnel manning the checkpoint and fled with the car. A case was registered, and earlier, another accused Sunil Vishnoi, a resident of Dhoondhali in the Raniwara police station area, was arrested. The pistol recovered from his possession was used in the incident.
The accused, Jaykishan Vishnoi, a 38-year-old resident of Dhoondhali, had been evading arrest. He repeatedly changed his location and mobile phone to remain hidden. On receiving information from an informant about his presence in the jungles near Posalia village in Sirohi district, Desuri SHO Ravi Singh led a team to the jungles, walking nearly 3 kilometres. When the accused saw the police, he attacked them with stones and managed to escape.
