Francia Raisa Speaks On Cyberbullying By Selena Gomez’s Fan Base

Francia Raisa and Selena Gomez, whose friendship made headlines when Raisa donated her kidney to Gomez in 2017, hit a rocky patch following Gomez’s comment last year that Taylor Swift was her sole industry friend. Raisa’s cryptic response, “Interesting,” was soon deleted. Selena later addressed the issue in a TikTok video, expressing regret for not acknowledging all her acquaintances.
Raisa, an actress known for her role in “How I Met Your Father,” has since maintained silence on their friendship status. However, she recently opened up to TMZ about the cyberbullying she’s endured from a faction of Gomez’s fan base, the ‘Selenators’.
Discussing the bullying, Raisa revealed the harsh comments she’s received, including one particularly hurtful remark wishing her physical harm. She highlighted that such behaviour is unacceptable and certainly not endorsed by anyone, including Selena.
Raisa pointed out Gomez’s dedicated mental health non-profit and expressed her confusion over the relentless online antagonism. Addressing the impact on her mental well-being, she asserted, “She’s literally out there saying, ‘Please stop,’ so I don’t understand others that are also being antagonized online.”
On coping with the negativity, Raisa stated that she is striving to ignore the bullying and focus on positivity. She acknowledged her fan tendencies growing up and sympathized with fans’ passionate feelings. However, she emphasized the need for kindness, urging everyone, “Not just with me, but with anyone, please stop.”
