According to police, one individual was detained after six persons were named in an FIR for allegedly beating up four young members of the Dalit group in Maharashtra’s Ahmednagar district.
The Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, as well as the pertinent sections of IPC 307 (attempt to murder) and IPC 364 (kidnapping), have been utilized to arrest the accused.
The incident was made public after a fictitious video of it appeared on social media. The four Dalit boys were allegedly kidnapped by the suspect males from their houses in Haregaon, which is under the jurisdiction of the Shrirampur police station.
On the grounds that they had stolen pigeons and goats, they were beaten and hanged upside down from a tree.
The accuser allegedly also urinated on the victims, according to the victims.
The incident reportedly occurred on August 25, and after being rescued by citizens, the injured guys are currently receiving medical care in a nearby hospital.
