Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan arrested

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan was arrested by from outside the Islamabad High Court here on Tuesday, according to the report.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Khan was taken into custody by Pakistani Rangers from outside the courtroom where he had appeared in the Alqadir Trust case.

Musarrat Cheema, the PTI leader, in a video message on Twitter, said: “They are torturing Imran Khan right now. They are beating Khan sahib. They have done something with Khan sahib.”

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has been arrested by the military, his aide said on Tuesday. Khan was taken into custody at a court in Islamabad in a corruption case, local broadcaster Geo TV reported.

According to a news agency, shortly after Khan entered the gate of the Islamabad High Court, contingents of paramilitary forces and armoured personnel carriers entered after him.

The witness said, “The armoured vehicles blocked the gate, and Khan was whisked away shortly thereafter under heavy security.”
