Abdul Malik Mohammed Yunus Isa, the former mayor of Malegaon in Maharashtra, was shot by unidentified attackers earlier this morning. Mr. Malik, a prominent leader in Asaduddin Owaisi’s All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party, sustained three bullet wounds and was initially taken to a local hospital for treatment. He was injured on the left side of his chest, left thigh, and right hand. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later transferred to a hospital in Nashik.
The incident took place at 1:20 am while Mr. Malik was seated outside a shop on Old Agra Road, according to a Malegaon city police official. The local police have launched a thorough investigation, but no arrests have been made yet.
