Former CM Gehlot urges BJP govt to uphold Cong schemes

The inaugural session of the 16th Rajasthan Legislative Assembly commenced on Wednesday, witnessing the presence of notable figures, including Sachin Pilot, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, and ex-CM Vasundhara Raje. Ashok Gehlot took the opportunity to make a special appeal to the new government, urging them to continue and strengthen the implementation of existing schemes, such as the Chiranjeevi Scheme and Old Pension Scheme.
Former Chief Minister Gehlot placed a significant responsibility on the BJP government, emphasizing the importance of carrying forward the initiatives launched during the Congress tenure. Gehlot’s call for the continuation of these schemes aims to ensure their sustained benefits for the public. As of now, the BJP government has not made any decisive announcements regarding these schemes.
Gehlot also expressed support for the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the paper leak case, stating that it is a positive development. He welcomed the prospect of the truth emerging through the committee’s investigation.
Having been appointed to the All India Committee of the Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance, Gehlot shared his views on the alliance’s significance. He emphasized the need for unity among parties, stating that strengthening the INDIA alliance is in the country’s best interest. Gehlot expressed concern over recent events within the country, citing the expulsion of 150 MPs from the House as unprecedented and a matter of concern for citizens. He highlighted the importance of safeguarding democracy in the face of such challenges.
