Five individuals have been arrested in Hyderabad for reportedly assaulting a pet dog and its owners, as confirmed by the police on Thursday. The incident, captured in a video, occurred in the Madhura Nagar police station area and has been widely circulated on social media platforms.
According to D Madhusudhan Reddy, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Madhura Nagar police station, a couple claimed that they and their Husky breed dog were attacked by their neighbor, identified as Dhananjay, and others.
In response, Dhananjay filed a counter complaint with the police. A case was subsequently registered under Sections 147, 148, 307 r/w 34 IPC, and section 11(1) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. Following this, the police arrested five individuals involved in the assault.
