Several farmer organizations from Punjab and Haryana are currently camped in Delhi as police administration has blocked all roads leading from Haryana to Delhi. Meanwhile, a significant statement has emerged from the leader of the Indian Farmers Union, Rakesh Tikait. Speaking to journalists, he warned the government in strong terms, saying that if the government creates difficulties for farmers, neither are they far from us nor is Delhi far from us. He deemed the demands of the farmers as legitimate.
Rakesh Tikait, discussing the farmer agitation in Bengaluru with media personnel, stated that the issues of the MSP Guarantee Law, the Swaminathan Committee’s report, electricity amendment bill, and debt waiver are similar concerns for farmers nationwide.
Additionally, targeting the government, farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said, “There are big capitalist companies in the country. They have formed a political party and have taken control of this country. In such a situation, difficulties will arise if any injustice is done to them (farmers). If the government creates any trouble for them, neither are the farmers far from us nor is Delhi far from us.”
