Erode: Dairy farmers protest for higher procurement prices

On Friday, dairy farmers in Erode, Tamil Nadu  poured milk on the road in protest of the government’s demand for an increase in milk procurement prices.
Dairy farmers staged a protest against the government, demanding that procurement prices be raised and payments be simplified.
Farmers claimed that payments for procured milk are sometimes made after two months, and that the cost of cow feed has also increased, burdening them.

According to reports, this has pushed many dairy farmers to do business with private players.
Milk deliveries have been delayed in several districts over the last few days.
