Epic showdown: U Mumba and Telugu Titans battle to a 45-45 draw in PKL

U Mumba and Telugu Titans concluded their campaign on an exhilarating note, sharing points in a thrilling 45-45 draw during the Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 match at the Tau Devilal indoor stadium in Panchkula on Tuesday. Telugu Titans skipper Pawan Sehrawat emerged as the standout performer of the game, amassing 14 raid points, while U Mumba’s Amirmohammad Zafardanesh concluded with an impressive 11 points.

Telugu Titans took some time to get going, requiring 6 minutes for their first tackle point. A remarkable multi-point raid from Pawan then diminished U Mumba to 2 men, but they couldn’t capitalize on the momentum. Super tackles from Sombir and Guman Singh propelled U Mumba to an 11-7 lead in the 10th minute. Pawan struck again a minute later with another multi-point raid, leading Telugu Titans to the first ALL OUT and a narrow lead at 13-12 in the 12th minute. The teams exchanged blows, trading the lead, and ended the first half on level terms at 19-19. U Mumba seized the initiative right after the restart, as Zafardanesh outplayed Sandeep Dhull and Hamid Nader. A solid tackle from Bittu on Sanjeevi soon after resulted in U Mumba securing the ALL OUT and surging to a 25-20 lead.

Telugu Titans fought their way back, with Shankar Gadai’s 2-point raid saving them from another ALL OUT. Pawan completed his Super 10 by surpassing Sombir as the opposition dwindled to 2 men. Telugu Titans secured a crucial ALL OUT in the 31st minute, trailing by just 2 points at 31-33.

Pawan outplayed Shivansh, crossing the 200 raid points milestone in PKL 10, and Telugu Titans leveled the score at 34-34 with 7 minutes remaining. While it seemed like Telugu Titans might clinch a victory, Heiderali Ekrami made a spectacular entry from the bench, executing a remarkable raid that dismantled Telugu Titans’ 3-man defense and inflicted another ALL OUT. With 3 minutes to go, U Mumba held a comfortable lead at 44-35. However, the tides turned in the final minute as Pawan executed a sublime 4-point SUPER RAID. Forcing 3 defenders into self-outs and tagging the 4th, U Mumba was reduced to 1 man, and the score stood at 45-42 in their favour.
