Eow busts biggest job frauds across 17 states

An employment fraud racket allegedly operating in as many as 17 states in India was busted, and the ringleader was apprehended in Bihar by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Odisha Police.
The officials confirmed that Dharampal Singh, the apprehended accused, is from Bihar and is the mastermind of the racket. 
Narayan Pankaj, Inspector General (IG) of the Economic Offences Wing in Odisha, said that the scam operated in 17 states and efforts are being made to apprehend the other offenders.
“A job fraud racket was busted by the Economic Offenses Wing on February 15.” The accused has been identified as Dharampal Singh, who is a native of Bihar. “He was the mastermind of the “Gramin Rojgar Kalyan Sansthan,” which is operating in 17 states,” he said.
“We are looking for other accused,” he said, adding that further investigation into the case is underway. “Gramin Rojgar Kalyan Sansthan” (GRKS) used to invite applications for various jobs like District and block coordinator, computer operator, block surveyor by prescribing the educational qualification and the remuneration for the individual posts.
The job seekers were asked to submit their application through the website created by the scamsters. To gain the confidence of the job seekers, the miscreants also offered reservations and concessional fee as it is done for Government job. The EOW officials said that the accused also used to issue advertisement in various newspapers in Odisha as well. “The racket used to conduct online exam and interview and used to give syllabus for each post on their website.
