An engineering student committed suicide by hanging himself in a PG near the Regional Centre of Panjab University located on Una Road in Hoshiarpur, Punjab.
In the afternoon, a student came to the security guard of the PG and informed him that Aditya Yadav, a third-year engineering student, had hanged himself from the fan in his room and then, he immediately informed the Sadar Police Station, and then, police after that police reached the spot.
The local police took the body into custody and sent it to the civil hospital for a post-mortem. The police officer who reached the spot said that the family members of the deceased youth had been informed, and the mobile phone of the deceased had been seized.
The police say that the reason for the suicide has not been known yet. But, according to sources, a suicide note was found on the spot. SHO of Sadar police station, Prabhjot Kaur, said that an investigation is being done in this regard, and only after that can something be said about it. He has informed me that a preliminary investigation has revealed that he was depressed.Aditya was a resident of Chandigarh and was pursuing his degree from hoshiarpur.
