In a bid to crack down on spam in comment sections, Elon Musk announced that users can now limit their replies to verified users to avoid spam and bots on Sunday.
Talking about this new change, Elon Musk asserted that this would improve the quality of replies.
He further said that despite initiating massive purge of bots, the social media continues to register high number of usage.
But many users were unsure about this change, one user said “I can’t do that. I have too many friends I really enjoy interacting with who don’t have blue checks.” said a user.
Earlier too, the social platform cracked down on spam accounts which resulted in several users losing their followers.
X owner also warned that it may halt revenue sharing with content creators while it will investigate the infiltration of bots into replies and direct messages (DMs).
Repeatedly, the company has highlighted the presence of significant bot operations by certain users, leading to a decline in content quality.
