Election Commission approves MSP crop purchases

The process of purchasing crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP) will start soon in Rajasthan. This purchase was delayed due to the implementation of the MCC. The Election Commission has now approved MSP purchases. The Commission has permitted the purchase of kharif crops at the determined support price. The Agriculture Ministries of those states where the MCC was in place had received a letter, which, after being sent to the Commission, has now been approved for procurement.
In Rajasthan, agencies will soon start purchasing kharif crops such as pearl millet, moong, urad, soybean, peanuts, and other crops. The central government has set the minimum support price for these crops. This time, the government will purchase pearl millet at Rs 2500, moong at Rs 8558, peanuts at Rs 6377, maize at Rs 2090, sesame at Rs 8635, and soybeans at Rs 4600 per quintal. According to sources, crop procurement could start in November, which is before Diwali.
