ED SEALS GANDHIS’ YOUNG INDIAN OFFICE IN NATIONAL HERALD CASE

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday sealed the Young Indian office at the Herald House building in Delhi. The move comes a day after the ED carried out raids at 12 locations in the national capital and other places in connection with the National Herald case in which top Congress leaders are accused of money laundering.

ED officials sealed the Young Indian office at the Herald House building in Delhi as no one was available there when they reached the office to conduct search operations. The ED pasted an order outside the Young Indian office saying that the “premises not be opened without prior permission”.

Why have they just done so is mysterious…,” Jairam Ramesh said in his tweet.

Calling the police action “the worst form of vendetta politics”, the AICC general secretary said in another tweet, “The Congress is under siege. Delhi police has surrounded our HQs, and homes of INC President and ex-President. This is the worst form of vendetta politics. We will not submit! We will not be silenced! We will continue to raise our voice against injustices and failures of Modi Sarkar!”

The ED action follows the interrogation of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi last month. The 75-year-old Congress interim president was questioned on three days on 21, 26 and 27 July for about 11 hours in three rounds. Her son Congress MP Rahul was questioned for about 50 hours over five days in connection with the
