The Rajasthan state assembly elections buzz has started. A team from the Election Commission of India will stay in the state for three days starting from Friday. The team will include Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, Election Commissioner Anoop Chandra Pandey, and Election Commissioner Arun Goyal. During this period, they will review the preparations for the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly General Elections 2023.
Chief Election Officer Praveen Gupta stated that on Friday, the Chief Election Commissioner, Election Commissioners, and other senior officials will hold a meeting with representatives of recognized political parties in Jaipur. Afterwards, the Election Commission will hold discussions regarding the Rajasthan Assembly Elections 2023 with nodal officers from enforcement agencies such as the State Police, CPF, Income Tax, Excise, Transport, Commercial Tax Department, the State Lead Bank Coordinator, Railways, and Airports, among others.
Gupta explained that on Saturday, the Chief Election Commissioner, the State Police Nodal Officer, and nodal officers from the Central Police Force (CPF) will provide presentations related to preparations. Following this, meetings will be held with District Election Officers, Police Commissioners, District Police Chiefs, and officers involved in the election for a review of pre-election preparations.
He further noted that on the last day of the tour, October 1, the Chief Election Commissioner and other commissioners will hold a meeting with the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police to review the preparations for the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly General Elections 2023 and address the press. During the three-day tour, Deputy Chief Election Commissioners Manoj Kumar Sahu, Dharmendra Sharma, Nitesh Vyas, Ajay Bhadu, Hridayesh Kumar, Director General B. Narayan, Joint Director Anuj Chandak, and Secretary Ashwini Kumar Mohal will also be present.
