PO and summons staff of Chandigarh Police is running a special campaign day and night against POs involved in heinous cases. In the last one year, PO staff has arrested hundreds of fugitives declared absconders by the court and sent them behind the bars. Police arrested a vicious, cruel, dreaded declared criminal in a 10 year old case. Cases have been registered against the accused under kidnapping, rape, murder and POCSO Act. Giving information, Hariom Sharma, Inspector/Incharge PO and Summons Staff said that cases have been registered against the proclaimed offender under kidnapping, rape, murder and POCSO Act. Fugitive Anirudh Kumar, resident of village Baswara Khurad, district Faizabad (Ayodhya), Uttar Pradesh, was arrested.
A case was registered against the accused under POCSO Act at Police Station 39, Chandigarh on the complaint of RK Verma, resident of Chandigarh. A case was registered against four accused Sunita alias Cat, Raj Kumar alias Raju, Bhagat. Three accused, Sunita alias Billy, Raj Kumar alias Raju, Bhagat Singh alias Manga, were sentenced to life imprisonment on court orders in 2015 for kidnapping, sexual assault and murder of an innocent child. Accused Anirudh Kumar alias Monu alias Jigra became absent in the past after raping a small girl for kidnapping, sexual assault and murder of an innocent child.PO was declared by the court in the case. A case of murder of back cam ATM security guard is also registered against the accused in Derabassi Mohali. In all the above cases the fugitive was a declared criminal.
The team of PO and summons staff was chasing the accused for the last one year. The police team had conducted raids about 17 times in Delhi NCR and Uttar Pradesh to nab the accused.
The accused kept changing his location. Due to the arduous efforts of the team of PO and summons staff, the accused was finally arrested from North. The accused was produced before the concerned court.
