A photograph capturing a patient and a deceased individual sharing a bed in Ludhiana Civil Hospital has sparked outrage, raising concerns about the state of health services under the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration in Punjab.
Badal criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, accusing them of falsely claiming achievements in the health sector. He tweeted, “A picture tells a thousand words. This picture – of a patient and a corpse lying on the same bed at the Ludhiana Civil Hospital is a true reflection of health services in Punjab under Aam Aadmi Party rule.”
According to reports, a patient admitted to the emergency ward passed away, and his body remained on the same bed with another patient throughout the night due to a shortage of beds.
Speaking anonymously, a doctor from the civil hospital disclosed that the deceased patient had suffered a head injury and likely went unattended, leading to his death. The incident came to light the following morning.
In response to the incident, Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney has directed the health department to submit a detailed report regarding the matter.
