Dev Uthani Ekadashi Sparks Election Date Debate

JAIPUR: In Rajasthan, elections are scheduled for 23 November 2023. However, there is growing dissatisfaction among the Hindu community in Rajasthan due to the election date. This is because the election date coincides with the festival of Dev Uthani Ekadashi, which holds great significance in Rajasthan. Many weddings are scheduled in the state on this auspicious day, and this will have a direct impact on voter turnout percentage. Now, the Hindu community is demanding to change the date of the elections. Pandit Banshilal Shastri mentioned, “This day is the most auspicious for Hindus. In Jaipur alone, there are approximately 4 to 5 thousand weddings scheduled on this day.
