Deputy Commissioner unveils poster of SARAS Mela

To captivate residents with the immersive experience of the district’s first SARAS Mela, the district administration has initiated an awareness drive today. Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain unveiled the poster of the SARAS Mela to invite residents to the gala event scheduled to be held from February 16 to 25 at Sector 88, Mohali, in the presence of ADCs Damanjit Singh Mann and Mrs. Sonam Chaudhary.

Deputy Commissioner Jain stated that to ensure the event’s success with the active involvement of residents, the awareness campaign would be conducted through outdoor media as well as social media.

She mentioned that a nominal fee should be charged for entry to the event, while attendees would have to pay separately for food items at stalls and other purchases.
The Deputy Commissioner further elaborated that the administration has planned to set up over 300 stalls at the event. These stalls would offer traditional food from across the country as well as artistic and other goods prepared by artisans.

In addition, renowned Bollywood and Punjabi singers will perform daily in the evening to mesmerize the audience. Similarly, the administration is also considering a variety of cultural items to be included in the event for entertainment purposes. Shows like stand-up comedy will also be considered to be a part of the event to explore the hidden talent of local youth, she added.

Producer and Director Bunty Bains were also present there.
