Haryana’s Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala issued directives to all deputy commissioners in the state regarding property ID verification under the ownership scheme. He emphasized the importance of verifying and investigating property IDs thoroughly before registering them under the actual owner’s name. Any discrepancies discovered should be rectified before initiating the registration process.
Conducting a video conference from Chandigarh, the Deputy CM, responsible for the revenue department, addressed all deputy commissioners and district magistrates regarding the ownership scheme. State Minister Anoop Dhanak also attended the meeting.
Chautala underscored the need to create property IDs for entire villages, similar to the setup in Sisarai village of Karnal district, rather than limiting them to a few individuals, emphasizing fairness in the process. He instructed officials to display the property ID and the village map at a public place in collaboration with the Panchayat, enabling residents to verify if their names are correctly listed. If discrepancies are detected, immediate resolutions were advised. He further directed officials to upload village maps on the department’s website for residents, including those residing outside the state or abroad, to verify their property IDs.
The Deputy CM also instructed the creation of control rooms at headquarters, simplifying the assistance process for district-level officials in generating property IDs. The government aims to establish a system facilitating the resolution of complaints related to property IDs via online platforms like WhatsApp, especially for overseas residents.
Chautala highlighted the need for transparent land distribution and issued guidelines to district officials regarding property registrations handled by SDMs and DROs. He instructed periodic reviews of these matters by deputy commissioners.
During the session, the finance controller of the revenue department, TVSN Prasad, Special Secretary Amana Tasneem, and the Deputy CM’s OSD Kamlesh Bhadu, among other officials, were present.
