Balaknath is appointed, it could not only impact Rajasthan but also have ramifications in Haryana. The BJP, by making Baba Balknath the CM of Rajasthan, may enhance its influence not only in Rajasthan but also in Haryana. Baba Balknath, the head of the Baba Mastnath Math in Rohtak, Haryana, holds significance in the political landscape, particularly in Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s stronghold. If Baba Balaknath becomes the CM, it could significantly impact Hooda’s stronghold.
Haryana is set to hold Assembly elections in 2024, and the BJP, by positioning Baba Balknath as the CM of Rajasthan, might bolster its dominance not only in Rajasthan but also in the adjoining state. Rohtak, the political base of former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, could witness a notable impact if Baba Balknath assumes the role of Rajasthan CM, given the spiritual leader’s influence in the region.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Rohtak saw a closely contested battle between BJP and Congress. Dr. Arvind Sharma from BJP emerged victorious from this seat. The Congress, however, managed to secure victories in four out of the five Assembly segments in Rohtak district.The Congress has held a considerable sway in both Rohtak and Jhajjar districts. In the 2019 elections, Congress secured victories in four Assembly constituencies – Rohtak, Kalanaur, Maham, and Sampla Kilo – within Rohtak district, along with four constituencies – Jhajjar, Beri, Bahadurgarh, and Badli – in Jhajjar district. The BJP will aim to secure victories in these constituencies in the upcoming elections.
