Delhi’s Covid-19 tally over 5.5 lakh as India’s caseload crosses 92.6 lakh

India recorded 44,489 new coronavirus infections, the 19th straight day that single-day cases have stayed below the 50,000-mark. India’s coronavirus tally now stands at 9.27 million, the second-highest in the world, after the United States. Deaths rose by 524, taking the total to 135,223.

 Delhi registered 5,475 new covid-19 infections and 91 related deaths in the last 24 hours. A total of 551,262 cases include 38,734 active cases, over 500,000 recoveries, and 8,811 deaths.

Haryana reported 25 more fatalities due to coronavirus, taking the death toll to 2,316, while 2,122 fresh cases pushed the state›s infection tally to 2,26,611. The state›s active cases stand at 20,778, while the recovery rate is 89.81%.

Meanwhile, Punjab reported 845 new Covid-19 cases, 467 discharges, and 26 deaths in the last 24 hours. Total cases in the state rise to 1,49,278 including 1,37,089 recoveries, and 4,710 deaths. Active cases stand at 7,479.

Maharashtra›s coronavirus case count crossed 18 lakh to reach 18,02,365 as 6,406 new infections came to light. The state also reported 65 deaths, taking the death toll due to the pandemic to

46,813. A total of 4,815 patients were discharged during the day, taking the tally of recovered people to 16,68,538. With this, the number of active patients is 85,963.

Gujarat reported 1,560 new Covid-19 cases, 16 deaths, and 1,302 recoveries. The state›s case tally reaches 2,03,509 including 1,85,058 recoveries, and 3922 deaths till now. Total active cases are at 14,529.

Rajasthan reported 3,180 new coronavirus cases, 2179 recoveries, and 19 deaths in the last 24 hours. Total cases in the state rises to 2,56,947 meanwhile recoveries rose to 2,27,408. Active cases in the state stand at 27,302 taking the death toll due to the pandemic to 2,237.

The Covid-19 tally in Uttar Pradesh rose to 5,35,449 with 2,094 fresh cases, while 30 more fatalities pushed the death toll to 7,674. There are 25,422 active cases in the state, of which 12,443 are in home isolation.

Andhra Pradesh reported 1031 new coronavirus cases, 1,081 recovered cases, and 8 deaths in the last 24 hours. Total positive cases in the state are at 8,65,705 including 12,615 active cases, 8,46,120 recovered cases, and 6,970 deaths.

Kerala reported 5,378 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours. There are 64,486 active cases, and 5,16,978 recoveries in the state. Tamil Nadu logged 1,464 new coronavirus cases, taking the overall infection count to 7,76,174, while 14 more fatalities pushed the toll to 11,669. Recoveries continued to eclipse new infections with 1,797 people being discharged from healthcare facilities, taking the overall tally to 7,53,332. Active cases in the state stand at 11,173.
