Delhi Police got into the action with the help of divers and rescued a teenage girl who jumped into the Yamuna River from the Signature Bridge of the national capital. The 17-year-old teenager resorted to the extreme level on Tuesday night allegedly after a tiff with her father. The girl is now safely handed over to the family, said police.
As per the Delhi Police, the incident took place at around 09:15 p.m. on Tuesday when she was traveling from Timarpur to Khajuri. The Assistant Sub-Inspector, who was on patrol at the spot swung into the action mode and informed the station staff. More than half a dozen officers including Station House Officer, Tribhuvan Singh Negi begun the rescue operation in Yamuna with the help of divers.
