Delhi Police recovers the car of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda’s wife from Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi, weeks after it was reported being stolen from Delhi, according to the officials on Sunday.
Two people have been held for the theft, they added.
The Fortuner car of JP Nadda’s wife Malika Nadda was reportedly stolen from the Govindpuri area in Delhi on March 19, said the Police.
The driver went to have lunch at his home in Govindpuri after getting it serviced when the theft happened.
He later went to the police and filed a complaint. The police lodged a case and started a search for the vehicle.
As per the CCTV footage, the SUV was last seen heading towards Gurugram with a Himachal Pradesh number plate, the officials stated.
“We have arrested two persons in this case. During interrogation, the accused revealed that they had stolen the SUV on demand and were planning to take it to Nagaland,” they said.
