Delhi Minister Atishi criticizes ED raids at AAP leaders’ premises

Public Works Department Minister Atishi claimed on Tuesday that Aam Aadmi Party leaders faced “threats” in response to the Enforcement Directorate’s searches at the residences of AAP members.

At a press conference aimed at ‘exposing’ the ED, Atishi asserted that the agency “has not been able to recover even a single rupee from them.”

The ED’s searches, spanning approximately 10 locations, include the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s personal secretary and others linked to the AAP.

Atishi criticized the ED’s handling of the alleged liquor scam probe, citing discrepancies in statements and deletion of audio footage during cross-questioning.

She emphasized that AAP leaders wouldn’t be intimidated by ED raids and accused the BJP of attempting to suppress the party through central agencies.

The raids are part of a money laundering investigation, and the ED has filed a case against Arvind Kejriwal for repeatedly skipping summons.

The raids, according to sources, are a component of the agency’s money laundering investigation. The agency filed a lawsuit in Delhi court against AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal for failing to appear at its summons in a matter related to the Excise policy, coinciding with the raids.

An investigation into claims that the BJP tried to “poach” MLAs in order to overthrow Arvind Kjeriwal’s government was sparked by a team from the Delhi crime branch visiting his home earlier this month and serving him with a notice to appear in court.
