According to police, an elderly woman died and her son was seriously injured after a fire broke out at a flat in Delhi’s Kirti Nagar area on Monday night.
The deceased woman was identified as Mahendra Kaur (78), according to the police, who added that her son was in critical condition.
“Around 1 a.m., the fire department received a distress call, and our personnel were dispatched to the scene.” Efforts to put out the fire are still ongoing, according to a fire department official.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, according to the police.
