A sole Bench of the Delhi High Court has issued contempt notices to two senior CBI Officers, namely Vineet Vinayak, who served as the Joint Director at the time, and Gagandeep Gambhir, who was the Superintendent of Police. This action follows a petition submitted by IFS Officer Sanjiv Chaturvedi.
Justice Jasmeet Singh, in an order dated September 22, has scheduled a hearing for October 31 at 3:30 pm and expressed the court’s commitment to resolving the petition on that date. The petition was initially filed in January 2018 by Sanjiv Chaturvedi, an IFS Officer who had previously served as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at AIIMS, Delhi. The petition pertains to a corruption case that Chaturvedi had investigated at AIIMS, involving allegations of financial irregularities in the procurement of specific materials at the institute.
