Around 12 p.m. on Monday, a fire broke out in the endoscopy room of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) building, sending hospital personnel and officials into a frenzy.

“All of the people have been safely evacuated,” officials said. When hospital employees noticed the smoke, they sounded an alert and contacted the Delhi Fire Department.

When the information was received, a team of fire tenders arrived on the scene and commenced an operation to bring the situation under control. “There are more than six fire tenders sent at the spot,” Delhi Fire Service officials said.
