Deepika Padukone finally reacts to backlash against Pathaan bikini

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone finally opened up about the controversial orange bikini from her 2023 release Pathaan and the political backlash she faced for her visit to JNU.

For those unaware, the actress was subjected to massive backlash when she visited JNU to show her solidarity towards students who were attacked by a mob at the time. She did not utter a word and yet delivered a powerful message about her stand on the subject. This year, she was subjected to backlash yet again when was seen wearing a ‘saffron’ colour bikini in Pathaan’s hit song Besharam Rang. While the makers had refrained from commenting about it, the actress has now spoken about the controversies with TIME magazine.

 She said, “I don’t know if I’m supposed to feel something about it. But the truth is, I don’t feel anything about it.” Further, she added that when the controversy surrounding the colour of her bikini broke out, she was busy with work.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Deepika was last seen in Pathaan alongside Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham. Siddharth Anand’s directorial hit the theatres this year in January and minted over 1000 crores at the ticket window globally. Next, the actress will be seen in Project with Prabhas and megastar Amitabh Bachchan. Apart from this, she has Fighter with Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor.
