Deputy Commissioner, Mrs. Aashika Jain, has taken notice of the issues faced by commuters on the Chandigarh-Zirakpur Highway Vehicular under Bridge (VUB). In response, she has urged the Executive Engineer to take immediate and effective measures to address the problem.
During discussions with Yuvraj Singh Bindra, the Executive Engineer of National Highways, and in the presence of Sub Divisional Magistrate, Derabassi, Himanshu Gupta, it was emphasised that resolving the problems arising from the poor condition of the service lane alongside the VUB is a priority.
The Executive Engineer reported to the Deputy Commissioner that the road had been cut by the Sewerage Department with prior permission, and now, after completing the work, the department is preparing to make it suitable for motor vehicles. A proposal for re-carpeting has already been submitted.
The Deputy Commissioner also stressed the need to address the condition of the other side of the service lane to ensure that commuters do not face issues due to road conditions. Furthermore, instructions were given to the Executive Engineer, Manpreet Singh Dua, regarding the approach roads for the RUBs in Mubarakpur and Bhankharpur to maintain convenience for commuters.
